Remote DevOps Consultant- 4+ month W2 contract with possibility of extension or long term

Insight Enterprise is seeking the expertise of a Remote DevOps architect/Engineer. This opportunity is a 4+ month contract with the possibility of extension or permanent hire.

An ideal candidate would be someone who has significant experience in evolving enterprise platform and application teams, processes, and CI/CD technologies or infrastructure to facilitate rapid application development and reliable, scalable infrastructure.

Responsibilities include setting the strategy for how we build, deploy, monitor, and operate applications. You should be extremely familiar with running applications at scale on modern cloud native architectures (such as AWS), ideally using Kubernetes (OpenShift, EKS, ECS). Additionally, you approach infrastructure from an application development point of view and understand the operational concerns that come with such a platform.

  • Expert experience with all aspects of Cloud Native CI/CD pipeline development from continuous integration of network, compute, security like teams with application teams using API driven technical stack
  • Develop/design CI/CD pipelines, support configuration, identifying dependencies, potential conflicts, processes
  • Optimize engineering for CI/CD with cloud native patterns, scalability, efficiency and security
  • Design, implement, deploy and maintain reliable CI/CD pipelines, systems, and processes.
  • Manage the design, configuration, and security of instances across multiple environments.
  • Engineer and build core pipelines, tools, services and infrastructure
  • Working experience with CI/CD pipeline, containerization and microservices transformation.
  • Strong Linux administration and scripting experience
  • Experience in requirements identification, solution analysis/testing, and product selection
  • Experience with Kubernetes environments,
  • Knowledge of Penetration testing/vulnerability testing/auditing experience and exposure to at least one of the compliance frameworks are all a plus
  • Work to help set direction and strategy for DevOps / Scrum teams with functional expertise
  • Provide hands-on leadership to the team, leveraging agile methodologies and DevOps principles.
  • Build Security-by-Design in CI/CD pipeline (API-first, Policy-driven development, security tooling
  • Desired key skills and knowledge of following technologies:

  • 5+ years’ application development, infrastructure pipeline experience and at least 2 years supporting DevOps concepts
  • Experience with software version control including branching and merging strategies.
  • Deployed applications in Private Clouds and Amazon AWS
  • Proficiency in system design & architecture
  • Experience with APIs to perform third-party integrations.
  • Strong knowledge of the DevOps tool chain (CI/CD) on the AWS platform: Jenkins, XL deploy, GitHub, Harness.io, AWS code pipeline, Confluence, GitHub, JIRA, etc.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across the enterprise
  • Strong problem-solving, documentation skills
  • Must be a self-starter, proactive team member
