Regulatory Compliance Specialist (banking industry)

Shaw Systems Associates, a nationally recognized provider of financial software and our suite of Shaw integrated products is seeking a motivated regulatory compliance and contracts specialist with a background in banking or loan servicing, who is highly organized and a reliable team member to work full time in our Houston or Richmond office. Candidate must have experience in reviewing contract compliance and knowledge of regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks

• Review federal regulations for loan servicing, Truth In Lending Act, Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, and other relevant regulations.
• Write regulatory compliance updates to be communicated to internal associates and external clients.
• Determine the changes required in loan servicing applications, as well as create high level written requirements for any required modifications.
• Participate in design meetings to resolve outstanding questions on compliance requirements.
• Review system test results to verify compliance with system regulatory modification requirements.
• Prepare contract forms for new software license agreements, hosted cloud services, professional services and software maintenance, and professional services statements of work.
• Prepare amendments for existing agreements.
• Prepare maintenance agreements for existing clients.
• Modify agreements according to terms agreed to by Shaw management.
• Assure compliance with sound contracting principals.
• Review issues of contract compliance and communicate with both Shaw internal resources and clients on issue resolution.

Qualifications

• Four year degree from an accredited university in the area of finance, business, economics, law or related.
• Strong, effective interpersonal and communication skills.
• Solid critical thinking and data analysis skills.
• Highly-motivated and detail-oriented with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
