Regional Technology Analyst – Global IT (Rock Springs, WY)

We currently have a Regional Technology Analyst position available at our facility in Rock Springs, WY. The Rock Springs resource-rich area offers affordable housing and excellent high desert recreation.

SUMMARY

Support and maintain the site IT infrastructure. Work collaboratively with other parts of INO for on-site support. Duties may include the support of VM infrastructure, web servers, database servers, thin clients, Citrix farms, terminal servers, and manufacturing/Mining support applications. Duties may also include resolving incidents and problems with end-users, investigation of customer questions, research and documentation of problem causes and their solutions. Supported technologies include desktops, laptops, mobile devices, thin clients, servers (both physical and virtual), networking (both physical and virtual), and Storage Area Networks. A person in this position, will be required to partner with the business unit and other departments within IT to implement new projects and technologies as needed. The person will be directly responsible for providing support to enterprise analysts in multiple technical areas within the organization, as well as, work with outside vendors that may be needed to support the facility and its functions. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, installation of new equipment, setup, configuration, documentation of systems and/or software, network monitoring and performance, server monitoring and maintenance, as well as, end-user device and software support. Travel may be required to other regional locations in order to resolve issues or provide on-site support. Work will be performed in onsite locations that will include non-traditional IT environments.

RESPONSIBILITIESAssure data backup, computer/network security and power protection are within IT guidelines. Participate on technical project teams to enhance the quality, effectiveness and efficiency of technical support.Build and maintain hardware inventory. Maintain current knowledge of information systems technology. Make recommendations where applicable.Perform installations, repair, upgrades, and troubleshooting for software and hardware. Provide installation, troubleshooting and maintenance for all LAN infrastructures at support locations.Provides server administration for local servers. Provides application administration and support, where applicable. Assesses problems/ resolutions to determine where improvements can be made or trends identified.Provide application administration and support, where applicable. Analyze and evaluates existing or proposed systems and devices or modifies procedures to process data and solve problems. Seen as resource for the team and client support problems.Provide basic technical knowledge for end users, other IS groups, and vendors to resolve network, voice, video, voice mail, or cellular problems. Knowledgeable of the database tables in network devices that interface between local communications server environment and the centralized data center.Shared responsibility for monitoring circuit and network performance, identification of circuit or component failures, including accurate and timely reporting of issues into a centralized ticketing database.Within standards and guidelines, determine and acquire appropriate hardware and software by consulting with users, vendors and other support/business analysts.

REQUIREMENTSBachelor’s Degree from 4 year college or university in a technology related field. One to three years related experience and/or training. Thorough knowledge of Information Technology and its associated functions. Must have excellent critical thinking and troubleshooting skills. Must be proficient using a Microsoft operating system and performing administrative functions associated with this environment. This will include, but is not limited to, remote assistance, remote desktop, event log review, knowledge base search, end-user troubleshooting, server management and maintenance, hardware maintenance, change management, and firmware updates. Must be able to coordinate, prioritize and follow up on multiple problems/projects to completion. Technical Skills/ Proficiencies: All Microsoft Client/Server Operating Systems, Microsoft Office products, Active Directory, Group Policy, Printers, Peripherals, familiarity with a command line interface, scripting, Linux, monitoring software, virtualization software. Should have working knowledge of network concepts and standard networking protocols (industrial protocols a plus). Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Excellent communication skills (written and oral). Able to think and react quickly, utilizing creativity with sound troubleshooting skills. Combination of education, training and/or experience will be considered for this position.
