JOB TITLE: Human Resources Recruiter

STATUS: Full-time, Exempt


SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday


LOCATION: Central Office


BASIC FUNCTION
:

The recruiter is responsible for full life-cycle recruiting: recruiting, screening and recommending placement of staff by using creative sourcing methods (internal and external).


RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE WORK OF OTHERS
: This position holds no direct supervisory responsibility.


TRAVEL REQUIRED
: Less than 5%; metro Chicago and suburbs.


SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO
:

  • Screens resumes, interviews candidates (by phone or in person), administers appropriate assessments and reference/background checking, makes recommendations for hire (or not hire) and delivers employment offers for both exempt and nonexempt position openings for assigned requisitions.
  • Serves as an expert for recruiting candidates within a department or business unit assigned.
  • Uses traditional and nontraditional resources, such as career fairs, online job fairs, community network events, etc., to identify and attract quality candidates.
  • Develops advertising programs (internal and external) to ensure high visibility with potential candidates.
  • Follows up with candidates and hiring managers to obtain feedback regarding recruiting process.
  • Develops and maintains an excellent relationship with internal and external clients to ensure achievement of staffing goals.
  • Communicates important employment information during delivery of employment offers (e.g., benefits, compensation, company and department policies).
  • Works with hiring managers to ensure compliance with all federal/state laws and regulations, including affirmative action plan compliance.
  • Manages current candidate activity in the applicant tracking system (ATS).
  • Manages application/resume file and retention according to company policy.
  • Completes reporting on recruiting activity.
  • All other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum two years recruiting experience or human resources experience required;
  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in human resources.
  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or PHR certification preferred;
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus;
  • Superior communication, interpersonal and organizational skills;
  • Must be able to handle multiple projects and priorities;
  • Experience with Human Resources Information Systems, including Microsoft Word and Excel and database software;
  • Proven ability in areas of problem solving, independent decision making, and conflict resolution.
