Quality Engineer Associate – Entry Level

By joining the specialized, innovative, and tight-knit Advanced Quality Team within Supplier Quality Management (SQM) you will be instrumental in moving our supply base to Zero Defects.

Goals of the selected Quality Engineer are the following:

Lead and support key Supplier Quality strategic initiatives and projects.

To ensure long term supplier defect reduction and elimination to continuously reduce cost of poor quality.

To ensure long term supplier compliance to contractual quality requirements, as they relate to LM Aero product.

Supplier population scope includes airframe and system commodities, IWTA sites, and international suppliers, including built-to-print and design-authority contracts

The selected candidate will be accountable for collaborating with various functions (both internally and externally) to solve technical and contractual issues, and ensuring execution is aligned with the quality and affordability goals set by the LM Aero programs.

The position requires about 25% travel within the United States.

Must be a US Citizen.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a technical / STEM field.

Proficient experience with Microsoft Office toolset with specific focus on MS Excel data.

Desired skills

Demonstrated presentation skills.

Ability to collaborate cross-functionally, build consensus, shape/influence. opinion and articulate the future state.

Familiar with Quality Systems specifically AS9100, ISO 9001:2008, AS9103, AS9102

Ability to ID risks/opportunities and apply Lean and Six Sigma tools appropriately including performing root cause analysis and driving effective corrective action.

Experience developing performance improvements plans, i.e. one of the following: return-to-green plans, zero-defect plans, excellence plans.

Experience interacting with at least one of the following stakeholders: Program Management, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, and / or Government Customer Representatives.
