QA Test Engineer

NKF Technology team is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance (QA) Test Engineer.

The QA Test Engineer consults with users to ensure that the system or piece of technology that has been developed does what the user originally wanted, by methodically analyzing each step or checkpoint. This includes the development of test cases from a technical design. Responsible for identifying and reporting results different from what was expected in the test cases. In this role, the QA test engineer should have a keen eye for detail, independent judgment, and excellent communication skills along with experience in software development. Must be passionate about software quality and competent in executing test cases to make sure our products, applications, and systems work correctly.

Essential Job Duties:
  • Write and execute test scripts for software and systems to detect faults including the inspection at the code level, particularly for data integration and transformation code
  • Maintain written records of defects and bugs that are discovered during testing
  • Analyze the defects and bugs to identify what is causing them
  • Develop or recommend solutions to fix any problems discovered during testing
  • Track the success of the re-applied solutions
  • Keep software and system documentation up-to-date
  • Consult with business analysts, application consultants, and account managers to ensure the system is responding according to the business user’s needs
  • Collaborate with the development team(s) to inform defects and bugs (problems) that require resolution
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle
  • May perform other duties as assigned

Skills, Education and Experience:
  • BS/BA in Computer Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 2 years experience as a QA tester or similar role
  • Knowledgeable in various software / web application code including C#, C+, Java, .NET, XML
  • Familiarity using Alteryx for data transformations
  • Scripting/automation knowledge using Perl/Python, and Unix shell scripts
  • Familiarity working with various DBMS including Oracle, MS-SQL, DB/2, and MySQL
  • Experience in project management, QA methodology, and SDLC
  • Experience with End-point security
  • Familiarity with Agile frameworks and regression testing is a plus
  • Working knowledge of test management software (e.g. qTest, Zephyr) and SQL
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Analytic mind and problem-solving aptitude

Additional Desired Skills:
  • Database testing experience with Oracle, MS-SQL, DB/2 or MySQL
  • Experience with Database authentication protocols
  • Oracle, MSSQL, DB/2
  • Experience with authentication protocols
  • SSH Authentication
  • Windows Authentication
  • Kerberos (MIT or Windows)
  • Password Vaults
  • CyberArc, Hitach, CA is a plus
  • Knowledge of Windows networking, window domains and active directory
  • Experience in Security domain is a plus
  • Experience with JIRA
  • Understanding of Facilities, Real Estate and Asset Management industry and practices
  • Background in IBM TRIRIGA development and/or IBM TRIRIGA Certified is a plus
  • Break/fix incident experience is a plus
