QA Engineer – Big Data

QA Consulting Responsibilities:

• Work with big data analytics engineers to develop automated testing systems.
• Develop testing software that will generate and validate test data for big data systems.
• Develop testing software that will investigate the performance and scalability of big data systems.
• Work with product managers and development leads to create testing strategies.
• Create test plans and test cases for assigned components.
• Execute and automate test cases, and perform bug tracking and management.
• Contribute in building a flexible and scalable data testing automation solution.
• Help create and implement quality processes and requirements.
• Identify and communicate risks about our releases.
• Be a customer advocate who understands the needs and expectations of our customers

Required Qualifications:

• Experience testing big data storage systems and tools such as Hadoop, Spark, Cassandra, Druid, HDFS
• Knowledge of Spark and related applications (Kafka, Flume, Spark SQL/MLib).
• Experience testing scalable, distributed big data systems.
• 4-year college degree or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of QA experience with automated testing of big data or analytics systems.
• Experience developing software or test automation in Java.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases, and document store systems.
• Strong Amazon EC2 and AWS skills.
• Working knowledge of TestRail or other Test Case Management Software.
• Working knowledge of bug tracking tools (e.g., Atlassian Jira).
• Experience building test automation frameworks.
• Comfortable with ambiguity but driven to reduce it.

Preferred Qualifications:

• BS in Computer Science
• Strong scripting skills (Python/Perl/Shell).
• Experience testing cloud-based microservice software solutions
• Experience testing analytics, artificial intelligence, and machine-learning systems
• Experience working with remote developers and testers
• Experience working with the Agile Scrum development process
• Knowledge of Reactive programming
• Knowledge of ETL and database testing processes

Job Type: Contract

Salary: $200,000.00 /year
