The Product Yield Enhancement (PYE) Team at Micron Technology, Inc. is seeking a Data Analyst / Statistician that has experience in data analysis and statistics or is willing to expand his/her skills and knowledge data analysis and statistics environment. This team member will act as an internal consultant and must have the following characteristics: value-oriented, goal-oriented, customer-oriented, team player, problem solver, can-do attitude, inquisitive, and tenacious in completing projects. He/she will be a member of the PYE Data Analytics and Statistics team that promotes collaboration, knowledge sharing, data-based scientific decision-making practice, and project completion accountability. He/she must be able to work both independently and as a global team member.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

The person in this position will be responsible for:

  • Burn-in control that ensures product quality/reliability and production efficiency. This responsibility includes:
  • Perform routine burn-in data analysis and communicate analysis results to manufacture (Fab), product, test, and quality engineers;
  • Work with product, test and quality engineers to determine proper burn-in conditions and evaluation metrics for burn-in control;
  • Work with product, test, and quality engineer to complete support burn-in related projects such as designing/conducting/analyzing burn-in experiments; data mining to identify correlation or cause/effect between manufacture process or customer results and burn-in results;
  • Provide consultation to internal or external customer regarding quality and reliability of Micron’s products.
    • Serve as a data analysis / statistical consultant with focus on the needs from the NVE/PYE organization and be available to companywide data analysis / statistical consultation
    • Provide data analysis / statistical training to Micron team members.

    Successful candidates for the position will have:

    • At least 3 years of experience in related industry applying a variety of statistical data analysis methods (e.g., reliability statistics, sampling methodology, ANOVA, regression analysis, design of experiments, predictive modeling, statistical process control, etc.). Experience applying statistics in the semiconductor industry is preferred.
    • Desire to identify and/or work on data analysis projects that will improve product (NAND, DRAM, etc.) yield and quality, reduce costs and cycle time, and optimize business practices.
    • Experience with R, JMP, and/or other statistical software including scripting capability for automating analyses.
    • Ability to extract data from different databases via SQL and other query languages (Perl, Python, etc.) and applying data cleansing, outlier identification, and missing data techniques. Ability to work with small, big, structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.
    • Ability and experience teaching short-courses in data analysis or applied statistics to engineers and technical management.
    • Capable of visually summarizing and presenting advanced analytical results to engineers and technical management.
    • Flexible and accommodating but willing to voice opinions and make recommendations.
    • Ability to influence decision makers by turning data into valuable information.

    Other Preferred Qualifications:

    • Knowledge of DRAM / NAND burn-in and testing
    • Knowledge and experience in DRAM or NAND product engineering

    Required Education:

    A B.Sc (M.Sc. or higher is preferred) in Applied Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or EE with adequate training in data science/statistics.
