Provider Training and Education Analyst

Hennepin Health is seeking a Provider Training and Education Analyst to be part of the Network Management team and will be responsible for developing and delivering provider training and education in a health plan setting. This position will work with internal stakeholders to identify training and education needs, and develop audience appropriate instructional materials to be delivered via a variety of mediums and channels.

This position may require some travel, mainly within the metropolitan area. Work hours are primarily days, Monday through Friday.

The primary duties and responsibilities of this position include:

Design, develop and deliver training program for providers and internal stakeholders on a variety of topics such as claims submission and adjudication processes, health plan products and clinical editing.

In partnership with internal stakeholders, conduct periodic needs analysis to determine provider training and communication needs.

Develop, maintain and manage key internal and external partnerships.

Provide a flexible learning environment and evaluate effectiveness of training; prepare analysis to guide future departmental decisions.

Work cross-functionally across the organization to ensure complete understanding of new products, industry changes and regulatory requirements to effectively develop audience appropriate training and communication tools.

Complete business workflow analysis working cross-functionally to ensure an appropriate basis for work product development.

Interpret and implement changes in Department of Human Services (DHS) contract as it impacts the need for provider education and internal provider facing employee training.

Participate in internal and external workgroups for which the subject matter scope of responsibility.

Best Qualified Candidates will have:One of the following:
Master’s degree or higher in business administration, public administration, instructional design, health care administration or another field appropriate to the area of specialization and two or more years of relevant planning analyst experience with a health maintenance organization, or in a managed care or other health insurance-related setting.

Bachelor’s degree or higher in one of the fields listed above and three or more years of relevant planning analyst experience listed above.

Bachelor’s degree in any field and a minimum of two courses in research methods, analysis, statistics, project management, planning, or evaluation and four or more years of relevant planning analyst experience listed above.

Access to reliable transportation to travel mainly within the metropolitan area.

Current status as a certified coder and ability to maintain this status is a plus.

Three or more years of experience developing and presenting training programs in a healthcare setting on the topics of claims submission and adjudication, Medicaid products and regulatory requirements and industry developments.

Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.

Knowledge of Medicaid covered services.

Knowledge of local, state and federal health care legislation, laws, rules, policy direction and the ability to interpret changes in these areas.
