Protein Biochemistry Scientist/Investigator: Oncology Drug Discovery

The Biological Chemistry group within Oncology Drug Discovery is focused on understanding and exploiting the molecular mechanisms of novel cancer targets for the discovery, characterization and optimization of small molecule therapeutics. We are seeking a highly motivated, creative and collaborative protein biochemist to join our team in a hands-on role to discover the next generation of innovative cancer treatments.

Responsibilities for the role include:

– Independent generation of protein reagents (construct design/engineering, cloning, expression, purification, and characterization) using relevant expression systems to support mechanistic biochemical studies of potential drug targets

– Development of target-specific protein strategy in concert with multidisciplinary project teams

– Analysis, interpretation, documentation and presentation of data to cross-functional groups

– Contribution to group knowledge and expertise through collaboration and idea exchange with multidisciplinary teams

– Interest in developing additional skills in biochemical assay development, enzymology and/or mechanism of action studies
