Job Description Summary:

The Project Manager, People Technolgoy, will lead and manage a variety of technical/functional projects in support of our People Technology eco-system. You will leverage your experience and leadership skills to influence the direction of a project based on defined objectives and determine how best to execute the work and manage the delivery.

The ideal candidate will have the capability to plan, monitor, communicate, and manage multiple complexity projects across multiple teams, departments, systems and locations that have a direct impact on the organization and are highly visible. You may work independently or with a program manager who is connecting a broader set of responsibilities. The project manager will work with key stakeholders to ensure that the project solution meets both business and technical needs.

Job Description:

Responsibilities:

  • Provide overall project leadership for technology and system centric initiatives and project using proven processes and tools, as lead project manager or in partnership with a program manager.
  • Collaborate with the project teams to define the approach, deliverables, schedule, budget, resources and tools to deliver the project within established constraints.
  • Create and manage detailed plans that drive a team to execute against milestones and tasks, and proactively identify risks and dependencies that require focused attention.
  • Partner with leaders/managers to staff projects appropriately with employee and contract resources.
  • Responsible for overall project management and communication, including issue tracking, communications/status reporting, project budget management, go-to-market/launch planning, escalations, etc.
  • Facilitate project meetings to enable decision-making processes.
  • Demonstrate strong commitment to stakeholder relationships by proactively communicating and taking ownership of risks and issues, and by facilitating effective resolution in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate all technical activities of the project team, and/or partner with an assigned Technical lead, to successfully plan and execute technical aspects of the project, including design, coding/configuration, data conversion, testing/QA and deployment of People systems and related integration and reporting process
  • Manage vendor/third party relationships.

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of relevant experience, with a minimum of 6 years successfully leading technical project initiatives for large complex business groups.
  • Experience with a variety of technical applications/systems and related integration.
  • Possesses very good knowledge and expertise in the use of project management methodologies (waterfall and agile) and tools, resource management practices and change management techniques.
  • Demonstrated practical application of project management and operational excellence practices.
  • Proven track record leading geographically distributed, cross-functional teams and enabling data-driven decisions to deliver desired outcomes within established time frames.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Successful track-record managing large scale technical initiatives in a large, multi-national company.
  • Knowledge and experience with Workday, Cornerstone LMS, SilkRoad, SaleForce, Fieldglass, and/or other systems used in an HR environment.
  • Experience with a variety of systems and technical areas with ability to lead Infrastructure, Data, Third Party System, SAAS, Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity, Platform development, and Application development.
  • Possesses skills to manage all aspects of the application development life-cycle.
  • Experience working in a global, diverse, team-oriented, and collaborative environment.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills, and experience applying these skills to think strategically in planning and issue mitigation/resolution.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to deliver results in a very fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Ability to leverage data to “tell a story” and enable decision making processes.
  • Proven Change Management expertise.
  • Serve as coach to enable teams’ to adopt new ways of working and operate as a high performing team.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the organization.
  • Proven facilitation skills in both in-person and remote forums.
  • 3rd party vendor due diligence, negotiation and management.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Current certification in Project Management (PMP) or as a Scrum Master is desired.
  • Certification in Six Sigma, or related continuous improvement methodology is desired.
