Project Manager I (Entry Level)

Responsibilities

The REB Project Manager is responsible for the successful implementation of material handling systems, primarily for the Records Storage industry. Key responsibilities include; scheduling, profitability and customer satisfaction.

Review all bids, evaluate and prioritize based on lead time, quality and size of job.

Source vendor capabilities and costs, place orders for required materials and subcontractors. Checks BOM and orders for accuracy.

Prepare project schedule, obtain lead times for materials, manage logistics and freight costs, and regularly update stakeholders (customer, salesperson or vendors) throughout project.

Review and approve installation drawings and BOM with Project Engineer (PE) and review special requirements with installation subcontractor prior to start date.

Contact local building department and document the requirements for obtaining a permit, review all permit drawings and structural calculation set drawings for accuracy. Obtain sprinkler and electrical contractor requirements to include on rack drawings.

Communicate clearly with all stakeholders on each project including; suppliers, subcontractors, customer, sales, building department, and upper management.

Review open projects with Director, maintain updated project pricing summary (PPS) sheets, keep updated project schedules and ensure customer invoices reflect agreed terms.

Obtain customer project sign-off; addressing all punch list items and reviewing final project with Director.

Contribute to developing new and improved processes.

Timely and accurate completion of PPS reports and maintenance of project logs.

Work on several projects simultaneously, in a fast-paced environment with daily deadlines.

Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements

Bachelor Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Structural Engineering; PMP Certification and/ or training. Or Associates Degree with additional experience considered.

Minimum 1+ years’ experience in a Project Manager role for industrial construction or implementation projects. Specific experience as PM, PE or Designer for material handling and/or Records Storage solutions is a plus.

Demonstrated understanding of; calculating project profitability, project scheduling, permitting requirements, installation requirements, change order process and defining project scope.

Expertise with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and MS Project (job costing reports, resource scheduling and tracking)Strong written, verbal and listening skills

SAP business software experience a plus

Working knowledge of AutoCAD including developing custom tools

Demonstrated ability to execute large projects on-time and under budget

Travel (40%) to pull permits, measure buildings, and manage installation (domestic and possibly, international)
