Position Title: Project Manager – Engineering

Company Overview: Nephros is a small, fast-growing medical device company, which develops and sells high performance liquid purification filters. Currently based in River Edge, NJ, the company plans to relocate later this year, probably to a location near Union, NJ.

Position Overview: This position is responsible for the successful initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, controlling and closure of Nephros projects. Individual must be a hands-on self-starter and be flexible to work in a small company environment with the ability to take participate in engineering, manufacturing, and operation support roles.

Principal responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate activities and objectives with all functional groups (including: Product Development, R&D, Manufacturing, Supply, Quality, Marketing, Sales, etc.) to advance assigned initiatives through completion to achieve desired business results.
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
  • Lead project meetings for all assigned initiatives (scheduling, meeting minutes, etc.)
  • Ensure current best practice project management / planning is utilized including establishing and maintaining all project documentation including Project Briefs, Project Plans, Gantt Charts, Success Criteria, and Risks Assessments.
  • Identify and manage project dependencies and critical project paths
  • Manage cross functional project activity across several functions including internal/external resources; track project plans and milestones.
  • Establish, communicate and continually manage project expectations and progress with team members via meetings, presentation and monthly status reports.
  • Interface with customers and travel to customer locations to gather input
  • Handle wide range of activities and projects as directed by Senior Management.

Desired Qualifications:

  • BS/BA in science/engineering with 2+ years PM experience (medical device preferred)
  • Strong organizational & multi-tasking skills, with a demonstrated ability to work effectively in a technical environment
  • Excellent PC Skills (MS Office, MS Project, other PM Software), PMI certification a plus
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to provide feedback to team members with the goal of attaining common understanding, trust and co-operation
  • Solid interpersonal and communication skills and strong team player with high degree of enthusiasm, energy and integrity. Solid work ethic with an entrepreneurial attitude and ownership mindset with the ability to wear multiple hats and take evaluated risks.
  • Familiarity with FDA and ISO regulations, design control, verification/validation, hazard analysis, and regulatory approval processes.
  • Ability to demonstrate a high degree of flexibility regarding changing priorities
  • This position requires that you currently reside within commuting distance to River Edge, NJ
