Are you a self-trained engineer or a recent college graduate enamored with how users’ experience your products? Do you love the process of developing software? Are you a skillful diplomat who naturally empathizes with different business units?

If so, you might be perfect for LaunchCode’s Technical Product Owner boot camp. Selected candidates will undergo a full time, two-week boot camp before beginning a paid, 180-day apprenticeship at a Fortune 500 company. Apprenticeship opportunity includes medical benefits and pay increases by 33% after the first 90 days of the program.

At the end of the apprenticeship, qualified candidates will have the opportunity to be offered a full-time position. Traditionally, 4 out of 5 candidates receive full-time offers.

Key Responsibilities

• Write compact user stories
• Refine product backlog
• Collaborate with business groups to maximize technology value for both the business and customers
• Communicate technical debt to business stakeholders
• Negotiate with stakeholders on product backlog priority
• Predict development team’s workload based on past accomplishments

Qualifications

• Insatiable curiosity to understand customer and stakeholder needs
• Passion, drive, and aptitude to succeed in technology
• Willingness to engage in analytical conversations and activities
• The ability to work full-time in the United States and a desire for your apprenticeship to become a full-time job

Nice to Haves

• Previous coding experience
• Ability to discuss and evaluate multiple points of view while remaining confident in representing the customer and development team
• Strong-willed, but diplomatic
• Desire to read widely on product development techniques including Agile, Waterfall, and DevOps
