Job Summary

Do you want to be part of a great team managing challenging projects in Higher Education? You’ll be systematically managing IT and non-IT projects with significant organizational impact, defining desired project outcomes, determining required deliverables and activities, developing project schedules, and monitoring executions with teams comprised of customers and experts from our 10 colleges and our District Office. You’ll have an opportunity to grow professionally by managing projects in a complex organizational environment, participate in our PMO’s journey of incorporating more Agile practices in our methodology, and receive tuition waivers, educational reimbursement, and training via our employee Professional Growth Programs. Essential Functions

30% – Coordinates the planning and execution of projects; develops and maintains project documentation such as charters, schedules, risk registers, issue and decision logs, and communication plans in collaboration with project sponsors and project team members; maintains project document repositories

30% – Facilitates project team meetings, includes scheduling, creating meeting agendas and minutes, and ensuring meetings are productive and effective

30% – Manages project progress; communicates project status electronically and in-person; coordinates internal and external project communication; monitors issues and assists in resolution and escalations as appropriate

10% – Participates in district functions and meetings; other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in education, business or public administration and two years of experience providing journey-level project management coordination and assistance including preparing reports, maintaining records, tracking budgets, performing research and assisting with project communication.

OR

An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation.

Desired Qualifications

Three (3) or more years of experience leading IT or Business (not media, marketing, construction, or event planning) projects as a project manager

Two (2) or more years of technical experience as a developer, server or network administrator, enterprise application administrator, or similar IT role

Agile methodology certification such as the PMI-ACP or CSM

Project Management certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI); e.g., PMP/ CAPM/PMI-SP

Experience in Higher Education working as an IT or Business (not media, marketing, construction, or event planning) project manager

Experience managing projects using management tools such as Microsoft Project, Primavera, or JIRA

Experience managing projects using waterfall and Agile frameworks

Special Working Conditions

May be required to work at multiple sites or locations.
