Roles and Responsibilities:

• Build, maintain, and continuously improve the project management system and practice of project management within the organization including project management policies and procedures, planning templates, project management software tools, standard report formats, etc.

• Support project managers and their teams in the effective application of sound project management principles and techniques to achieve project success. Provide ongoing ownership and responsibility for the application of project management in the organization.

• Provide portfolio governance and program and project delivery oversight

• Organize and maintain an organizational repository of project information that has value in planning future projects.

• Promote concise communication regarding projects within the organization.

• Conduct portfolio-level analyses, such as workload projections across multiple projects.

• Develop and maintain best practice methodologies, tools, processes and standards to promote and measure the quality of delivery.

• Maintain clear understanding of Northrop Grumman and its client’s strategic and business drivers so that the PMO can align initiatives, programs and projects to these drivers and operate with a defined, quantitative purpose.

• Maintain a cooperative working relationship across the organizations’ lines of business.

• As needed, manage projects, including the unilateral development of project plans and the direct control of performance

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

This requisition may be filled at either a level 3 or a level 4

Basic Qualifications for a Project Manager 3 are:


• 6 Years with Bachelors; 4 Years with Masters

• Expertise in project planning and control methodologies

• Expertise using project management software tools

• Expertise implementing and integrating software tools

• Familiarity with business, technical, and political aspects of the projects performed in the organization

• Exceptional interpersonal, group facilitation, analytical, and communication skills

• Exceptional process discipline and attention to detail

• Must be either a U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder

Basic Qualifications for a Project Manager 4 are:

• 10 Years with Bachelors; 8 Years with Masters

• Expertise in project planning and control methodologies

• Expertise using project management software tools

• Expertise implementing and integrating software tools

• Familiarity with business, technical, and political aspects of the projects performed in the organization

• Exceptional interpersonal, group facilitation, analytical, and communication skills

• Exceptional process discipline and attention to detail

• Must be either a U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder

Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:

– Project Management Professional certification

– Master of Business Administration

– Experience with Agile/Scrum Development

– Scrum/Agile Certification (PMI-ACP, PSM 1, PSPO 1, CSM, or CSPO)
