Project Leader- Finance

The Project Leader- Engine Maintenance Finance position is responsible for supporting financial planning, analysis, and reporting activities for the Technical Operations division including the annual operating plan, monthly close/forecast process, and ad hoc financial analysis projects. Will have significant budget responsibilities including the planning and forecasting of expense for engine maintenance. Will provide ad hoc analysis to support Technical Operations part-out initiatives as well as support of the Advanced Innovation and repair group. Maintains a solid understanding of assigned business area(s) and related strategic objectives, reporting requirements and financial needs. Makes recommendations and prepares presentations to senior management regarding financial and strategic activities for the business unit. Supports the department’s compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements by striving to maintain strong internal controls. Practices safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Requires a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or other business-related discipline and at least five years of recent experience in relevant positions. MBA preferred. Excellent problem solving and analytical skills are required. Should be highly proficient in written and oral communications and able to produce concise and relevant documents and presentations for Delta senior management. Must demonstrate strong initiative and the ability to work well in a team environment. Must be able to work with confidential information, minimal supervision and under strict deadlines and on multiple projects concurrently. Must possess project management ability and be capable of organizing priorities and performing job functions with close attention to detail in a highly dynamic, deadline-oriented environment. Must possess strong financial modeling skills as well as a solid understanding of finance and accounting related concepts. Excellent interpersonal, communication and relationship-building skills required.
