Project Engineer

Job location: Liverpool (Brocklebank)

We are looking to appoint a skilled project engineer who will work in a team of project engineers, responsible for project management activities related to CAPEX investment. This will include, project design, planning, execution and control. The project engineer has a role as a project leader or team member depending on the size of the project and will work closely with the portfolio manager.
Main Tasks:
  • To contribute to the preparation of project design, construction budgets and project schedules with a value of up to 5 million
  • Lead development of the project scope based on project management practices and capital effectiveness best practices
  • Coordinate pricing, estimating and scoping documents for design and construction
  • Accountable for all key design documentation, including but not limited to; plot plan, layout, piping isometrics, P&ID’s
  • Directs and supervises third party engineers and contactors ensuring safety at all times
  • Ensuring the most effective technical solution is applied for the projects in scope
  • Contribution to the HAZAN/ HAZOP and SWIFT studies
  • To contribute to the RASCI (responsible, accountable, consulted and informed) matrix and ongoing safety plans
  • Keeping stakeholders informed though frequent project reports, identifying variances from the project plan and correcting as required
  • Raising purchase requisitions for all project purchases and ensuring purchase orders are receipted
  • Ensuring proper implementation of corporate engineer best practices and ensure alignment between design specification and Cargill best practice
  • Overall to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, in budget and are technically operable.

Qualifications

  • Degree in a relevant subject; mechanical, chemical, process engineering and or project management or equivalent is essential
  • An industry recognised project management qualification would be preferred
  • Proven track record in all aspects of successful project delivery
  • A focus on environmental, health and safety, food safety and quality at all times
  • Experience in process design, project engineering and project and HAZOP leadership
  • A hands- on approach to project work and a proven track record in successful project delivery (safe, on- time and within budget)
  • The ability to work in multi-disciplined teams with a track record of delivering objectives and communicating effectively
  • Strong organisational skills, multi-tasking and project planning skills with the ability to pro-actively prioritise and consistently execute at a high standard
  • Demonstrates sound judgement, logic and decisiveness
