Position Description : Project Cost Accountant

Seeking a Project Cost Accountant for a temporary assignment of streamlining our capital project accounting and forecasts. This person will work closely with our VP in Construction Management and CFO in managing costs for each capital project.

Job Duties

• Helps document and clearly define the scope of each capital project
• Reviews closed and open Purchase Orders for each capital project
• Reconciles vendor invoices against purchase orders
• Reconciles procurement contracts with purchase orders to clearly define what remains to be ordered for each capital project
• Works with Project Scheduler to be able to forecast the put-in service date for each capital project
• Ultimately helps Construction Management Team provide most intelligible and reliable costs at completion forecasts

Skills and Qualifications

• Has experience in project cost accounting
• Versed in construction management terminologies
• Advance skills in Microsoft Excel to be able to integrate data from multiple sources
• Familiar with how purchase order and accounts payable work, and be able to use reports from Microsoft Dynamics SL and communicate with Accounting Department effectively
• Has good communicational skills in presenting findings and changes and forecasts to executives
• Deadline oriented and masters details
