This position assists in the programming, testing, and technical operations of the traditional computer systems and technologies. Must have ability to write and maintain software applications. Must have knowledge of corporate-computer systems and applications and have the ability to suggest and implement changes, additions, and improvements.

•· Analyze, build and test traditional computer systems and technologies. Ability to analyze, build, modify and maintain computer software, using current technological and design tools. Remains informed of Information Systems literature and emerging trends/technologies. Maintains application base, executes timetables for modifications and new applications under the direction of the Application Development leadership. Ability to successfully integrate other systems and information into existing or new projects. Conducts detailed analysis of development requests and provides accurate estimates of programming effort. Programs a variety of tasks including advanced or complex tasks associated with project assignments; performs corrections on an as needed basis. Works independently with limited direction and supervision to write, test, debug and document programs..

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Associates degree in computer science, computer information systems or a related field required. A combination of education and experience may be substituted. Must have application design and programming experience.

Skill in writing program code. Ability to analyze and solve problems; coordinate, plan, and schedule; test and implement programs. Must possess average organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. Written and verbal communication skills are essential. Desktop software skills are required.

Knowledge of IS terminology and advanced programming skills such as I/O Table handling, control structures, etc. Knowledge of file structures and retrieval methods. Ability to use debug tools and analyze program problems. Ability to perform program development and program maintenance and data manipulations. Ability to test functionality of development work. Ability to communicate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and skill levels. An understanding of Unix, Linux or OS/400 is beneficial. Knowledge of programming techniques and ability to test application programming. Knowledge of multiple programming languages is preferred. Knowledge of project development methodologies; project management procedures.
