Program Manager – North County Academy

Pay scale: $69,000-$79,000 per year

Work Schedule: Full time, Monday-Friday 7:30am-3:30pm

SUMMARY

Responsible for the development, implementation, fiscal oversight, and management of North County Academy, that serves severely emotionally disturbed students in a special education setting; Coordinates program’s staff so as
to maximize utilization and quality of care; Manages activities of treatment program to provide clinical care and instruction for students and families consistent with System of Care philosophy, principles, and values. To perform this job successfully, an

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ( Other duties may be assigned)

  • Develop and maintain a strong and collaborative relationship with education partners, including School Director, NCCSE/SDCOE staff, and school district personnel.
  • Provide ongoing assessment of program to implement and/or refine program to meet all regulatory requirements, and to provide optimal level of clinical care for the students served.
  • Attend training in, and provide leadership as guided by, the principles of Trauma Informed Care, Children’s System of Care, and Wraparound Philosophy.
  • Develop collaborative relationships with North County community partners; promote positive program identity within SDCC, and the community at large.
  • Organize and provide consultative participation in therapeutic groups, including therapy groups, daily goal-setting community meetings, parent and student education, and multi-family therapy group if applicable.
  • Support the quality improvement process to ensure that each student is receiving quality treatment, including collaboration with program staff on all components of quality improvement, and developing a high level of personnel
    support for quality programming.
  • Monitor clinical documentation (i.e. treatment plans, therapy notes) to ensure that each student is receiving quality treatment and that documentation is in compliance with government regulation and policy, as well as agency’s
    policies/procedures.
  • Facilitate open communication between multi-disciplinary clinical and administrative personnel within the program, with education partners, and within the organization as a whole.
  • Ensure provision of regular parent and staff communication.
  • Responsible for attending to, processing, and resolving grievances by parents, students, or community members.
  • Hire, train, and provide supervision, disciplinary actions, and performance reviews for all direct reports, in accordance with SDCC policies and procedures.
  • Supervise graduate and/or undergraduate interns, if assigned, in accordance with SDCC policies and the requirements of the placing universities.
  • Provide consultation on individual treatment programs as needed.
  • Monitor and enhance the quality of the site’s physical and therapeutic environment.
  • Responsible for ensuring each program staff receives all required training.
  • Monitor staff working conditions, morale, hours, and grievances.
  • Collaborate with SDCC Director of Finance to maintain fiscal surplus and resolve all fiscal issues in a timely manner, such as billing issues, cost management, procurement issues, administrative adjustments, and support data
    cost reports.
  • Provide direct services for students and carry cases when necessary.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Valid California Driver’s License
  • Master’s Degree
  • Must be a licensed clinician (MFT, LCSW, or PhD)
  • Minimum of five years direct clinical experience working with children and adolescents
  • Demonstrated experience in supervision/management skill, clinical training, leadership,
  • Ability to work effectively in a team setting

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • At least two years’ experience in program management, including program development and fiscal management
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (for MSW graduate student supervision)
  • Basic First Aid / CPR
  • CPI
