HON and Allsteel, two leading brands under HNI, are currently hiring entry-level leaders for our Production and Distribution facilities within our Leveraged Furniture Operations in Muscatine, IA.

Leveraged Furniture Operations (LFO) provides critical operational support for many of HNI’s outward-facing brands, such as HON and Allsteel. As the name suggests, our approach provides significant leverage in manufacturing expertise, distribution and logistics, supply chain management as well as our product design and engineering functions.

Production Team Leaders are entry level management positions that are responsible for providing daily leadership to production workers in assigned departments through guidance from upper level leaders. They assist in meeting our customer order needs through execution of daily production schedules as well as achieving goals in safety, quality, efficiency and continuous improvement. They lead in the identification, analysis, resolution, documentation, and communication of problems related to production. They contribute on a regular basis to the continuous improvement initiatives of the Factory.

You will do…

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead and motivate teams of production workers to meet daily customer order goals in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

• Investigate, analyze and resolve various system (process), part (materials flow), or people issues to correct deficiencies, reduce costs, improve processes/performance using root cause analysis and problem solving skills

• Provide daily leadership to team including leading communications, administering company policies and procedures, and developing strong team dynamics.

• Recommend and implement improvements and/or modifications in sequence of operations

Our ideal candidate is an excellent communicator with strong leadership skills, the ability to problem solve, and drive change.

We also prefer:

• 1-3 years experience in a manufacturing environment

• Associates or Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education preferred

• Strong analytical and problem solving skills including root cause analysis
