Production Engineer

Komatsu Ltd is an international manufacturer of construction and mining equipment for the global market. Komatsu UK Ltd is based in the North East of England, close to Newcastle upon Tyne, and was established in 1985. The Company employs over 400 people who are engaged in the design and manufacture of medium-sized hydraulic excavators, mainly for the European market.

We now have an excellent opportunity for a Production Engineer to join our Engineering team to improve the efficiency of our Fabrication processes.

As a Production Engineer, you will introduce and implement improvements to drive time, efficiency and quality improvements in the Company’s manufacturing capability. You will support new model introduction, providing support to production as necessary, and you will purchase and install plant equipment which will minimise the effect on the environment.

The successful candidate will be educated to degree level or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering and will have experience in a similar position. Previous experience in Fabrication Engineering would be an advantage.

We are looking for an Engineer with a good understanding of technical processes and procedures and you will ensure continuous improvement of both manufacturing and engineering processes whilst working to external and Company standards.
