Production Associate

Georgia-Pacific is looking to hire Production Associates to join our team at our plywood facility in Madison, GA. Production Associates assist operators with multiple tasks that allow the facility to meet or exceed production and quality goals. They have the opportunity to learn new skills while working with operators. Eventually this will allow them to fill in on the manufacturing line and advance into new positions. A Day In The Life Typically Includes:
  • Performing general laborer duties and operating small equipment and hand tools, i.e.: blowers, shovels, pitch forks, brooms, to clean up debris in and around machines to ensure a clean and safe work environment
  • Adhering to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures
  • Assisting in operating machinery to expected performance levels
  • Working collaboratively as a team to meet or exceed production and quality goals while keeping waste at minimal levels
What Do You Need?

Basic Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must have experience working in the plywood and lumber industry
  • Willing and able to work any shift, holidays, weekends and overtime as necessary
  • Willing and able to work in a hot, humid, cold, and noisy industrial environment
  • Willing and able to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, to include safety equipment, i.e.: safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toed boots and other PPE as required by specific jobs
  • Willing and able to lift or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Willing and able to perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling for at least eight (8) hours a day
What Would Put You Ahead?

Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least one (1) year of experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Experience operating material handling equipment, i.e.: hand trucks, pallet jacks, and/or forklifts
  • Experience using a computer for record-keeping and documentation functions
