Production Assistant (On Call)

Position Overview:
Assist with production on approximately ten seasonal Home and Apparel Catalog photo shoots per year in studio and on location and assist with management of the Pendleton Photo Studio as needed. This is an on call position with hours that will vary week from week.

Job Responsibilities:
Under the direction of Catalog Producer, this person will be called on to assist in the planning and execution of fashion, web, home location and studio photo shoots. This might include researching locations for photo shoots, acquiring permits, location contracts, insurance documentation, booking and confirming models and cast, booking production support vendors to include caterers, location/site managers, as well helping to arrange transportation for all crew members on photo shoots and booking hotel accommodations for the crew.

This person will also assist Producer in ensuring set production and design elements are purchased and or built. The production assistant will be involved in studio set moving and styling as directed by the set director and production manager.

The Production Assistant will build and maintain a digital catalog of all Home and Apparel sets and prop inventory, as acquired and liquidated.

Assist in planning meetings as needed.

The production assistant will need to be available for travel and work flexible hours. In addition to assisting on the photo shoots, there may be an opportunity to assist with other short term projects with the Direct Marketing Division in between photo shoots.

Skills and Qualifications:
Location and photo studio production assistance experience. Set design experience.

Excellent communication and organization skills.

Ability to work multiple projects with tight deadlines.

Ability to take direction and adapt quickly in fast paced environment.

Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, InDesign and Adobe Photoshop.

Mac & PC based OS.

General understanding of digital capture processes and server based workflow.

Must have a valid driver’s license.

Ability to lift 50-100 pounds.

Ability to use ladders.

Ability to reach above shoulders, and have dexterity to move boxes and furniture.

Flexible with time commitments. Schedule may include weekends and travel during production.

Ability to prioritize workload and have strong project management skills.
