Product Stewardship Specialist

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

* Minimum of Associate’s degree (A. Sc.). Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Physics, Environmental Science, or Chemical Engineering preferred.

* Minimum of 2 years related job experience and/or training pertinent to job-related skills listed above.

* Experience with MRP or ISO quality systems preferred.

* Or, equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the applicant with the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job.

* Valid Oregon driver’s license.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES

A Product Stewardship Specialist collaborates with the larger Regulatory Compliance team to ensure precautionary labelling of products under a variety of state, federal and international regulations. This position supports the organization of credible information and the communication of health and environmental hazards. An array of technical and analytical competencies are needed to maintain information on the compliance status of products. The incumbent will develop a strong understanding of product composition and regulatory framework in the geographies and business markets we serve. The completion of projects will be assigned in support of the Product Stewardship & Regulatory Manager.

This position requires the aptitude of a conscientious, structured, detail oriented person with productive work ethics. This position will perform the following duties, but not limited to:

* Learn and integrate the mission-driven opportunities which Product Stewardship and Regulatory Compliance contribute to our Company.

* Learn, navigate and incorporate references from an array of regulatory frameworks, including US state and federal codes, Canadian consumer chemicals and containers regulations, and other state, federal and international regulations.

* Assist the Product Stewardship & Regulatory Manager, leveraging resources from internal and external suppliers, to support the timely hazard communication and product packaging approvals.

* Perform systematic data management activities, including the maintenance of numerical identifiers and data relationships, across multiple formats. Skills in accurate automation are preferred.

* Assist with annual certifications, reports, permits and recurring customer requests.

* Collaborate with other team members to support the Company’s reasonable testing program for hazardous consumer products.

* Other duties as assigned supervisor.
