Job Description Aisin AW is seeking highly motivated, experienced and enthusiastic Product Owner (PO) to guide the development of our next generation navigation system. The PO develops and maintains a vision for the product and is responsible for communicating that vision to scrum teams. The PO is responsible for the product and product features from initiating phase to closing phase of project. The PO works with architects, chief engineer, and development teams to ensure that business, quality and functional goals are met with each product release. The PO is the key decision maker on priorities of product backlog, and works to ensure that all stakeholders are aligned at each stage of the development lifecycle. The PO understands both the engineering and business side of the product release and is ultimately responsible for representing the customer’s needs.

Work Status

Must be eligible to work in the U.S. and possess a valid driver’s license for vehicle test driving.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with product architect, chief engineer, and development teams to translate business requirements into user stories for the development teams to implement
  • Develop and manage an appropriately prioritized user stories backlog for implementation
  • Serve as a voice to project the expectations of customers on new or already existing products
  • Conduct backlog grooming meetings with a team of internal product owners and external product owners
  • Attend sprint planning sessions, daily scrum meetings, retrospectives
  • Monitor the progress of product development, as well as plan for product release
  • Contact customers and end users to obtain information on expected product features
  • Provide reports to update management and stakeholders on product development operations
  • Analyze customer opinions and feedback to determine features or components that will add values to a product

Required Skills:

  • 2-5 years previous experience as a product owner, business analyst, or in a related field
  • In-depth understanding of Agile methodologies, technical understanding of products, and up-to-date on industry standards and best practices
  • In-depth knowledge of Agile process, development frameworks, and practices
  • Outstanding communication, presentation and leadership skills
  • Comfortable working with cross functional teams in multiple locations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong technical acumen to understand technical system needs, architectural requirements, constraints and be able to negotiate tradeoffs to stakeholders

Preferred Skills:

  • CSPO (Certified Scrum Product Owner) certification
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point)
  • Experiences with JIRA / Confluence / Redmine

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s (BA or BS) in business, computer science, or related field; master’s preferred

Work Environment:

  • Occasional travel may be necessary.
