Position purpose – Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks

  • The Product Manager is responsible for the product planning and execution throughout the Product Lifecycle, including: gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with engineering, sales, marketing and support to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. The Product Manager’s job also includes ensuring that the product supports the company’s overall strategy and goals.
  • ·Defines and communicates the product strategy and roadmap.
  • Runs beta and pilot programs with early-stage products and prototypes to perform discovery and hypothesis validation.
  • Develops the core positioning and messaging for the product.
  • Performs product demos to customers.
  • Develops general specifications, including functional and technical documentation, problem statements, definitions of done, value statements, workflows, use cases, and user stories
  • Works with developers, administrators, product managers, UX/UI designers, database engineers, and data visualizers to interpret and communicate the needs of the various stakeholders and acts as a liaison between Business Technology and the end users
  • Elicits requirements and understands the needs of key stakeholders, users of technology and decision makers
  • Ensures solutions meet business needs and requirements.
  • Performs user acceptance testing.
  • Prioritizes initiatives based on business needs and requirements.
  • Determines operational objectives by studying business functions; gathering information; evaluating output requirements and formats
  • Constructs workflow charts and diagrams; studying system capabilities; writing specifications
  • Understands and communicates the financial and operational impact of any changes
  • Performs, evaluates, and communicates thorough quality assurance at every stage of systems development
  • Determines and develops user requirements for systems in production, to ensure maximum usability
  • Authors and updates internal and external documentation, and formally initiates and delivers requirements and documentation
  • Develops meaningful and lasting relationships with partners for optimized systems integration, and responds to questions and concerns from managers and executives with supporting research and recommendations
  • Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in Information Systems (or related field) or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years experience product management or a related field.
  • Mortgage Industry experience.
  • Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
  • The ability to influence stakeholders and work closely with them to determine acceptable solutions.
  • Advanced technical skills.
  • Excellent documentation skills.
  • Fundamental analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
  • Experience creating detailed reports and giving presentations.
  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • A track record of following through on commitments.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Experience leading and developing top performing teams.
  • A history of leading and supporting successful products.
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
  • Preferences

  • Strong mortgage background
  • Experience with Salesforce or other major CRM technologies
  • Ability to work and to deliver content under tight deadlines
  • Ability to work independently
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Knowledge of AGILE/SCRUM methodology
  • Knowledge of ‘The Lean Startup’ methodology
