Product Designer (Interaction Design)

Beyond is looking for a Product Designer in our New York studio to play an integral role in our product design offering. We’re looking for a curious, talented, articulate and multi-faceted designer, who likes collaborating across all disciplines involved in the product and service development process.

Responsibilities

• Discover, understand, and articulate our clients’ business requirements, the needs of their customers, and the context in which these two come together through insightful design strategies
• Strong knowledge of user interface design processes and methodologies for web, mobile and embedded technology that focus on the end user
• Create concepts using professional design tools, rapidly working through ideation alongside a collaborative and cross-functional team
• Advocate the implementation of UI guidelines, standards and requirements that serve as the foundation for designing experiences that support the business, brand and customer
• Lead information architecture and interaction design to create products that solve problems across a variety of industries
• Create user flows, wireframes, prototypes and design specifications; and develop user experiences based on design briefs
• Demonstrate strong visual design skills and knowledge of user experience best practices
• Have a solid understanding of iterative design techniques and the way in which customer interviews, usability testing, and other forms of requirements discovery translate into design

Job requirements

• 3 years of interaction/graphic design experience across a variety of digital media within a creative agency or in-house product team
• Proficiency with design and prototyping tools such as AdobeCC, Sketch, InVision and other application
• Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, New Media or an equivalent degree.
• Understanding that experimentation leads to earlier success, and that prototyping can be done at various levels of fidelity
• Experience working in an agile way with collaborative, cross-functional teams
• First inclination is to build a prototype to showcase visual strategy
• Utilize the core principles of visual design in all you do—grid, hierarchy, typography, color, etc.
• Fluent in Sketch; Illustrator; Photoshop; and on-screen prototyping tools.
• A strong portfolio that showcases examples of complex design challenges where you applied design best practices as well as an up-to-date knowledge of latest technologies
