Daikin is looking for a software architect to provide leadership and direction for a global development team. The architect will be responsible for contributing to the creation of a full stack architecture starting from our embedded controls going up to our Cloud infrastructure and mobile device access using industry best practices. This person must have experience developing software for the entire software stack needed for these types of systems, be able to evaluate architectural trade-offs in the system, and work collaboratively across engineering teams and geographic regions. The ideal candidate will have created a cloud architecture, developed embedded and/or application level software, and communicated their decisions effectively across an organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Responsible for driving work plans and providing technical leadership for engineers dedicated to designing and implementing complex infrastructure systems that meet the short- and long-term business goals of internal functional areas.
  • In partnership with management develop operational goals as well as system specifications.
  • Monitor analysis of complex infrastructure components and identify best solutions for efficient system operations.
  • Create work plans and product cost guidelines that are consistent with company standards.
  • Prepare and present project proposals to users in functional areas.
  • Often plays a proactive role in developing and applying new approaches to infrastructure planning.
  • Participate in the modification, development and implementation of company practices and policies.
  • As needed, interacts with senior managers and executives to establish broad based technical direction related to infrastructure systems as well as other functional areas, divisions and customers.
  • Uses professional concepts in accordance with company objectives to solve extremely complex problems in creative and effective ways.
  • Leads development of new theories and methods.
  • Works on extremely complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangible variables.
  • Exercises independent judgment in developing methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.

  • More than 15 years of related education and experience
  • Developed or Architected a cloud infrastructure using technologies like .NET, databases, HTTPS, Auth Managers, etc
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as technical literature and safety standards, operating and maintenance instructions, and engineering drawings.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional employees in the organization.
  • Able to collect data and drive decision making
