Product Application Engineer

We are seeking a Software Product Application Engineer at our Plymouth, MN site. As a valued member of Danfoss Power Solutions, the Product Application Engineer will provide technical direction for products in their area of responsibility and must also support technical issues and provide training for customers. The SW PAE helps gather customer requirements and bring new products to market.

Responsibilities:

• Gather customer and general market requirements for new products.
• Identify key aspects of new products for training and documentation.
• Provides product training and support with sales force and at customer sites.
• Be an advocate of existing and new software technology and products.
• Assist in market validation of new software products.
• Develops launch materials for new product releases such as: sales tools, information bulletins, technical literature, presentations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or Computer Science from an accredited college or university or sufficient experience in software development
• 5+ years’ experience in BU’s industry with detailed knowledge of software, electric or electronic component systems and applications
• Ability to work in global team environments
• 3+ years’ experience in V-model or agile based software development performing the following functions:
  • Gathering customer requirements
  • Designing software applications
  • Creating user documentation
  • Verifying correct functionality and validating that customer needs are met.
• Preferred industry experience with detailed knowledge of electric, electronic or hydraulic component systems and applications.
• Energetic, willing to find compromises between multiple and sometimes conflicting interests
• Ability to communicate and network to engage customers.
