Prod Control Tech. – EDP Operations Technician 2

As a Production Control Technician for Minnesota IT Services, you will provide technical and administrative services in the processing of all jobs submitted to the Production Control area to ensure MNIT’s Enterprise batch job input and output job handling is kept up to schedule to facilitate a timely work flow. This position works under the direction of a shift lead technician.

Responsibilities to include:
Monitor CA-7 enterprise job flow

Demand production batch jobs per customer request

Use CA-7 list commands to check production job status

Update and modify production job schedules

Make JCL modification to production jobs when needed

Use TSO/ISPF functions to troubleshoot production batch issues

Provide 1st level CA Web Client Support for Cross Platform Scheduling

**Please note: This position will work Tuesday – Saturday 11:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
Candidates must clearly demonstrate all of the following qualifications in their resume:

Experience with the CA-7 automated scheduling system or other major scheduling package

Familiar with BMC/Remedy (or other IT ticketing system)

Technical skills to stage production batch jobs using IBM’s job control language JCL

Familiar with resolving batch processing job failures on a z/OS mainframe

**Successful candidate must pass past-employer reference checks and a criminal history verification**

Preferred Qualifications:
Basic knowledge of Automic Workload Automation Application Manager (Appworx) scheduling package

Excellent communication skills

Ability to work under the pressure with the guidance of a lead to perform uneven work flows, job stream schedules, and hardware downtime
