Procurement Specialist

JOB SUMMARY

  • Purchase materials in a timely manner and at the lowest cost
  • Maintain records of goods ordered and received
  • Coordinate procurement activities for critical manufacturing products with high value to manufacturing
  • Source vendors of materials, equipment or supplies, and interview them in order to determine product availability and terms of sales
  • Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders for supplies and equipment
  • Analyze market and delivery systems in order to assess present and future material availability
  • Manage supply base and drive supplier performance
  • Serves as a liaison with vendors for the purpose of monitoring and consolidation of orders for better management of expenses
  • Prepare reports regarding market conditions and merchandise costs

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience with SAP and ERP
  • Inventory Management experience
  • Bachelors of Science in related field preferred
  • 2 – 3 years of purchasing/sourcing experience in a manufacturing environment
  • At least 1 year of experience working with inventory planning and control in a manufacturing environment
  • Results oriented and self-motivate
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel
  • Vendor Management

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The usual and customary methods of performing the job’s functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally, the job requires 80% sitting, 10% walking, and 10% standing. This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is performed in a professional group office environment.

The position will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
