Process Engineer

Optimize the Production organization’s assembly methods, processes and equipment in order to
minimize labor hours in accordance with business strategies related to quality, efficiency, costs
and safety.

Tasks:

1. Develop and maintain manufacturing processes for experimental, prototype, new and existing products.

2. Develop and maintain SOPs for manufacturing operations.

3. Provide troubleshooting assistance as needed for all production departments.

4. Coordinate activities with all departments to reduce production scrap.

5. Provide technical training as required for all departments.

6. Manage or participate as a member of a project team to develop new and improved products or processes.

7. Review DMRs , determine root cause, recommend or implement corrective action and coordinate long-term resolution.

8. Fill out work orders, purchase requisitions, CARs and material requisitions as required.

9. Specify, justify, and develop manufacturing equipment for new or existing products to ensure that the designs can be manufactured safely, efficiently and in a repeatable manner.

10. Develop and coordinate manufacturing/product cost reductions.

11. Assist product engineers and technicians in the testing of products as required

12. Provide Product Engineering, Marketing, Material Sciences, and Tool Engineering with manufacturing process input to ensure that capable processes can be developed for new product designs.

13. Provide technical assistance to the Hackettstown facility and all joint venture facilities as required

14. Perform as assigned other similar or related duties.

Requirements:

Basic Qualifications:

• Technical Degree or equivalent

• Five years of experience in a production manufacturing area

• Fundamental applied Statistical Process Control (SPC) knowledge and process capability analysis

• Mechanical design.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Troubleshooting skills

• Project planning

• Good interpersonal skills, coaching skills, written/verbal communication, working within a team environment and trainer skills.

• Takes proactive ownership and responsibility for product quality at point of manufacture and

• Possesses self-motivation to take on additional responsibilities to enhance value to organization.

• Can be relied upon to be on the job when needed and perform work to its successful completion.
