Role Summary:

Provide leadership as part of a world class team of technical experts; setting standards/direction for Global Supply Chain’s advanced manufacturing technologies. Drive the vision for advanced processing, testing/application practices with focus on process, materials, or mechanical initiatives. Support introduction of processes for new product development/existing manufacturing lines.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Support Transducer COE initiatives with wide business impact and ensure to share best practices across Global Ultrasound Probes
  • Work with the technical experts to leverage the capabilities of our Transducer COE lab and network of analytical resources to trouble shoot issues on existing manufacturing processes, optimization for new processes/products and evaluate new advanced manufacturing technologies that support transducer fabrication.
  • Engage in all phases of new product development, including concept, architecture, documentation, design, prototype, test, supplier interfaces, manufacturing introduction and service support
  • Support process development from initial engineering feasibility through manufacturing implementation including verification and validation activities, equipment qualification, and initial production.
  • Work in an environment including method development, equipment maintenance, sample preparation, maintaining EHS compliance, and general housekeeping duties.
  • May drive efforts to improve product and process quality by performing material characterization studies, performing DOEs for process optimizations
  • May design new tooling, assembly fixtures, and components for building medical ultrasound components, assemblies and devices.
  • Support and leverage Transducer COE manufacturing technology roadmap development to advise on supplier investment opportunities; partnering on GRC activities as necessary

    Versed in spirit of driving continuous simplification of QMS methods and their applications by working with cross-functional team including Operations and Quality Assurance.
  • Work with facilities and maintenance team to implement change and ensure the required product capacity is in place before it is required by customer demand
  • Support analytical testing; interfaces with global counterparts to achieve program goals, integrates activities when necessary.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • B.S. Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or related technical degree and 3 years’ experience or Associates Degree and 5 years’ experience or High School diploma with 7 years of experience in production, engineering or troubleshooting

    Demonstrated troubleshooting, analytical and planning skills
  • Ability to work independently

    Demonstrated strong communication skills (written and verbal) to all levels of the organization
  • Ability to identify and implement Best Practices

    Domestic and international up to 25% is expected to support these initiatives.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Knowledge in structural engineering, analysis, and verification of mechanical structures, mechanisms.
  • Understanding of theories, concepts and techniques in structural and/or dynamics analysis
  • Knowledge of industry and/or academic practices and standards related to structural analysis, stack up tolerances, finite element analysis, and structural verification testing.
  • Experience with Weibull Analysis and DFR & DFM tools

    Product and Process Development experience
  • Demonstrated program or project management skills
  • Demonstrated experience owning production processes / growing capability in yield and quality
  • Knowledge in Disco and ADT equipment
  • Experience with hands-on use of in process test equipment, processing equipment, building prototypes, etc.
  • Experience with DFM tools
