Process Engineer

Drive innovation into the FA. Lead the effort to improve the FA processes. Use the ANS, OSMT, RA, waste, and productivity information to drive the direction for improvement.

Support Corp Engineering to build success into new development. Be involved and visible with development work. Build relationships to strengthen the business.

Be decisive. Use all available resources to make the best decision possible. Collect information, analyze data, and make recommendations to the area on improvement projects. Statistically analyze process data to establish process standards. Use statistical methods to determine process equipment operating guidelines.

Work safely. Actively participate in all aspects of the safety program. This includes but not limited to STOP, JSAs, and safe work practices.

Communicate in a clear and precise manner. Always consider the audience. Send out an update on projects on a routine basis. Hold a weekly meeting with the FA manager and Technical Manager to review progress and forward direction.

Manage projects according to priorities. Break projects into steps and show progress made on each step. Assign expected completion dates. Complete projects in timely manner.

Provide others who are working on projects a clear direction of expectations. Explain the objectives, set goals that include completion dates, costs and desired results.

Maintain the SOC system expeditiously with accurate data. Identify and make improvements to the SOC system. Review technical and bag specifications and make recommendations based on process capability. Keep a clean and orderly work area. Organization and preparation is the key to success. Ensure that all work areas are kept in good standings.

Understand the existing processes and the challenges within the FA. Take initiative on issues. Spend time in the area. Use 70% of time in the area and 30% of time in the office as a guide.

Troubleshoot Finishing Area production issues , create, review and update bag machine operating and maintenance procedures to help increase productivity and reduce waste. Work with DOE technician to understand the interactions of variables of the FA process. Ability to work with all types of people that include but not limited to BMO, tester, packers, supervisors, and support groups.

Train bag machine operators, expeditors, packers, testers, and mechanics on new processes. Recommend and implement long term quality improvements. Communicate with management, supervisors, and production workers. Write reports to communicate results. Acknowledges and follows Curwood Centerville Safety and Product Safety policy guidelines required in various areas of the plant. Must follow and use Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).

Must know and maintain respective role in Food Safety.
