Private Equity Associate

The Private Equity Associate role an integral part of the Capital Markets team, which is responsible for all capital markets activities, including capital structure strategy, raising private equity capital in the form of funds & joint ventures, securing debt capital from multiple debt sources, investor relations, investor reporting and general marketing. The Private Equity Associate will support all functions including modeling, analysis, presentation, marketing and reporting.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Building, analyzing and reviewing complex financial models in Excel.
  • Perform financial modeling to support capital markets transactions. Examples include financial modeling, performance benchmarking, and analysis of key performance indicators (KPI).
  • Review and reconcile quarterly reports, capital account statements, financial statements, and cash flows.
  • Gather, analyze, and synthesize data to prepare investor deliverables (quarterly reports, investor presentations, ad-hoc reports, etc.)
  • Perform quantitative and qualitative analyses using market statistics and benchmark data
  • Perform complex financial analyses with minimal supervision, including cash flow projections, valuation models, and sensitivity analyses.
  • Assist on specific projects to address investor-related requests.
  • Compiling and managing databases.
  • Assisting with the production of client presentations/documents (e.g. presentations and pitch books).

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree, with a major in business, finance, accounting or economics preferred.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of working experience in, private equity, investor reporting or general finance positions years of experience with leveraged finance, investment banking, corporate finance or private equity.
  • Advanced knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications required. (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Highly-developed analytical skills and ability to understand complex financial concepts.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and build complex, user-friendly, Excel-based financial models.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work within a collegial, team environment.
  • Self-starter with demonstrated problem-solving capabilities and an ability to work autonomously.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and to work on several projects concurrently.
