Principal Technology Development Engineer

The Advanced Technology Development group at Logitech Ultimate Ears is responsible for identifying new technologies that will keep LUE products competitive in the marketplace, and quickly maturing those into platforms so they can be handed off to a product development team for inclusion in a product. Functions will be:

  • Thoroughly evaluate and report on applicable new technologies from technology partners

  • Develop technologies and platforms identified by management and marketing as essential for future products

  • Developing proof of concepts that allow marketing to better evaluate a technology or platform’s market potential.

This role will focus on electronic hardware, embedded systems, signal processing, wireless, and power electronics. An ideal candidate will have Principal-level product architecture experience and expertise in the following areas:

  • Embedded systems – ARM, MIPS and other platforms suitable for IoT and mobile connected devices

  • Experience in Bluetooth Classic Audio, Bluetooth Low Energy, WiFi connected devices, and streaming audio technologies

  • Experience in hardware development for IOT and/or mobile connected smart devices

  • Experience developing audio products highly desired

  • Experience in battery management, power management, audio signal processing, and audio power amplification desired

  • [Nice to have] Coding in C++; experience in developing within Linux, Android, and real-time operating systems (RTOS)

  • [Nice to have] Experience in creating apps in iOS and Android

This role will be highly visible as it will be interacting with marketing, engineering, program management, executive leadership, partners, and customers. As such, excellent verbal, written, communication, and presentation skills are required.

The role will require that the individual be a self-starter, self-motivated, passionate, do-it-all type of person who is comfortable owning a project start to finish with limited access to additional resources. Creativity, cleverness, thriftiness, and speed are attributes needed to be successful in this role. Additionally, diligence and thoroughness are essential.

The technology development team is a small, nimble, and dynamic team that work in sprints. Prototyping is an essential output. The position will require skills in constructing and assembling prototypes – Skills in coding, soldering, mechanical assembly, and quickly Macgyver-ing things together.

This position reports to the Technology Strategy Director.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years in development in the areas listed above

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering and/or Computer Science

  • Prior Employment References
