Principal Engineer – Java

This position is responsible for leading the Global Coca-Cola Freestyle teams’ execution and delivery of hardware/software releases with well-defined Freestyle customized software development life cycle process. This position understands and coordinates feature backlog for all releases for the platform and their dependencies on each other; Leads the translation of software features into technical requirements (Features) and follows Agile Scrum based Software development. This role will be responsible for defining software release plans and scope with the platform lead(s) / BA / tech lead(s).
This role is key interface between applications on Freestyle devices to external systems and subsystems without Freestyle devices

• Recommend improvements and drive alignment across the Freestyle Engineering & Innovation organization

• Work with 3rd party software parties to integrate with corporate systems
• Work across multiple technical teams to develop Freestyle solutions
• Support Continuous builds and integration environment using Java, Maven and Jenkins

Job Profile:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience is required; Master’s Degree in Computer Science or MBA is highly preferred

Work Experience:

• 12-15+ yrs. of Software Development Lifecycle experience
• 5+ yrs. of Embedded Software architecture
• 5+ yrs. of Agile Software Development

Technical Skills:

• Experience in defining & implementing architectural practices for the team
• Experience in Embedded User interfaces (React, Angular, HTML5, CSS)
• Knowledge of User interface patterns, ability to separate presentation and model/controller
• Experience embedded UI test automation and model/controller test automation
• Experience in SQL and NOSQL databases and configurations
• Experience in measuring performance continually during development process to allow developing faster, small foot print and services
• Experience in translating functional business requirements into an application architecture and design and demonstrating ROI of the proposed solutions
• Experience in troubleshooting complex software defects and applying appropriate solutions based on current design and architecture standards

Functional Skills:

• Orchestrate the deployment of resources (e.g., people, infrastructure, financial, informational) from Coca-Cola (e.g., client, internal service providers) and third parties in order to ensure successful project completion.
• Generate a plan and timeline to commercialize the technology (e.g., packaging, production, distribution, capitalization) ensure system readiness, and define resource scheduling in order to meet project objectives.
• Define, implement and support solution delivery strategy including deployment strategy, rollout schedule and delivery method in order to ensure effective and efficient deployment of the business solution.
• Evolve, plan or execute the strategy for data standards that support information strategies and Corporate reporting requirements in order to maximize information as an asset for strategic decision making, meeting regulatory requirements and meeting legal considerations.
• Generate, document and execute a plan to select and/or develop technology (e.g., packaging, tools, processes, equipment, products) including managing the change control process, in order to meet the project’s specific objectives (e.g., improve quality, deliver new products, optimize processes).
