Job Title: Primary Counselor

Reports To: Lead Counselor

Ashwood Recovery has an opening for a Chemical Dependency Counselor in our Boise, Idahoout-patient facility.

POSITION SUMMARY: As a key member of the Ashwood team, the Primary Counselor is responsible for providing counseling and case management services to clients at Ashwood Recovery.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

  • Case staffing
  • Individual case supervision
  • Professional and timely documentation
  • Consultation with other clinical professionals
  • Review of case record maintenance
  • Treatment planning
  • Facilitate individual and group therapy
  • Discharge planning
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures
  • Maintain confidentiality in accordance with established policies and procedures and standards of care
  • Other clinically appropriate services and special projects as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS FOR POSITION:

  • Must be certified in Idaho to meet the standards and requirements under IDAPA 16.01.20 “Alcohol and Substance Use Disorders Treatments and Recovery Support Services Facilities and Programs,” at the time of hire and throughout the duration of employment or contract
  • Minimum 1 year experience in relevant field preferred

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

REQUIRED CERTIFICATES/LICENSES/REGISTRATIONS:

  • Must hold an active CADC, ACADC, LPC, LCPC, LMSW, LCSW or LMFT
  • Must maintain current crisis prevention intervention and nationally accredited CPR/First Aid/AED certification

  • None

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • Completion of a tuberculin screening during first week of employment
  • Completion of a pre-employment drug screening, post-accident and random for upon reasonable suspicion of use
  • Completion of orientation and required paperwork prior to reporting to work
  • Demonstrated computer literacy
  • Completion of CPR/First Aid Training within first 90 days of employment
  • Attendance at all mandatory staff development and training
  • Completion of Health and Welfare background check
