PR & Marketing Specialist

Part public relations, part marketing, full-time robot promoter! Modular Robotics looking for someone with the unique blend of skills to craft and execute message-aligned communications campaigns. We need your help in telling the world who we are and what we do. You’ll split your time between telling Modular Robotics’ story to the media and telling it directly to our fans.

Modular Robotics is the company behind Cubelets robot blocks. Cubelets are a fast and easy way to inspire kids to become better thinkers. Just snap Cubelets robot blocks together and you’re building your own robots! You’ll find Cubelets in classrooms, museums, science camps and homes across the US and around the world. We’re seeking a Public Relations & Marketing Specialist to join our team. Your efforts will focus on growing awareness in new markets and continuing growth in our existing channels.

If the 8-year-old version of you would flip would over the prospect of working with tiny robot toys, you might be a good fit. If present age version yourself yearns to grow the company that makes the world’s first commercially available robot blocks, then you should definitely apply! If you’ve worked in toys, consumer electronics, and/or education technology that is certainly a plus, but a creative mind that excels in persuasion is what we seek. You’ll join a small team and will be responsible for coordinating your efforts across departments and with outside vendors. If working in toys and tiny robots is something you’re passionate about, we want to speak with you! Ideal applicants should demonstrate the following:

• At least 3 years of PR experience.

• Marketing work in consumer products is a plus.
• Experience in the toy, education, and/or consumer electronics industries is a plus. * Top-notch written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven success in researching, planning, and executing a communications plan.
• Comfort with cold calls and outreach–these are second nature to you.
• Design experience and/or a good “creative eye” is a plus.

As a member of the team, you’ll work on:

• Devising a public relations strategy.
• Building relationships with members of the press.
• Pitching our story/news to the media.
• Coordinating and executing on outreach events and press tours.
• Collaborating on the creation of company messaging campaigns.
• Helping launch new products and enter new markets.
• Writing and creating campaign content.
• Distributing content and analyzing the results.
• Executing on other marketing initiatives, collateral creation, and promotional campaigns.
