Post Silicon Validation Engineer, Bringup and Prototyping Team

Our computational challenges are so big, complex and unique we can’t just purchase off-the-shelf hardware, we’ve got to make it ourselves. Your team designs and builds the hardware, software and networking technologies that power all of Google’s services. As a Post Silicon Validation Engineer, you design and build the systems that are the heart of the world’s largest and most powerful computing infrastructure. You develop from the lowest levels of circuit design to large system design and see those systems all the way through to high volume manufacturing. Your work has the potential to shape the machinery that goes into our cutting-edge data centers affecting millions of Google users.

In this role you will work on the bring-up, verification and validation, debug, and long term characterization and optimization of ASIC projects. You will develop and execute test plans for functional verification, including significant software-based test development. You will collaborate closely with design, design verification, and Design For Test teams in the development phase of the ASIC life-cycle, ensuring proper features are in place for post-silicon validation. You will collaborate with software developers to ensure we have proper test coverage of an entire program.

You will help develop a common set of requirements, processes, tests, and testing infrastructure to ensure smooth and reliable performance of ASIC projects. You will be hands-on throughout the entire project lifecycle, from early pre-silicon planning and testing through end-of-life characterization and debug. By leveraging hardware knowledge you will develop and operate software-based tests for full investigation of ASIC operation.

You will work closely with both hardware and software teams to successfully validate designs, and to identify design issues. By working closely with designers you will gain insight into the requirements for full ASIC verification and validation. You will help to generate and drive testing of our integrated systems with a focus on ASIC functional test verification and characterization, utilizing and creating software systems and tests as required to deliver thorough testing coverage and characterization.
