Planner – SIG Material

A Material planner in the Systems Integration group is responsible for ensuring the material pipeline for products being built, analysis of Bills of Material and MRP. Responsibilities include requisitioning material, resolving critical material shortages, managing bills of material, processing Engineering Change Orders, tracking product cost, monitoring manufacturing builds, generating material risk management plans, reporting to development and management team. Material planners must be able to work on cross-functional teams and to communicate with all levels of management.

Individual must be a team player, has a high level of flexibility, and will work toward common goals inter-departmentally and cross-functionally. An individual who has demonstrated proactive problem solving and leadership skills as well as a proven ability to envision and implement change (problem identification and solution recommendation, and implementation).

  • Monitors materials inventories, tracks progress of production, and reviews factors which affect schedules
  • Ensure timely/accurate Bill of Material, BOM, management to align with Engineering Change Orders, ECO, and new product introduction.
  • Plan optimal inventory levels and coordinate actions to address excess and obsolete.
  • Identify and initiate corrective actions to recurring root causes that cause missed schedules
  • Ensure timely/accurate Bill of Material, BOM, management to align with Engineering Change Orders, ECO, and new product introduction.
  • Find creative ways to resolve problems
  • Recognition of when a problem must be escalated

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

Experience using MRP tools and management of related data.

Must be familiar with computer applications and/or controlled systems

Must be familiar with Lean Manufacturing principles

Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office computer software applications

Must be proficient with SAP

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Strong analytical and problem solving ability

Excellent interpersonal skills to train motivate and lead employees

Must possess a high level of energy and enthusiasm

Strong desire to work in a team-oriented environment
