Key Experience and Qualifications

3+ years PHP software development

1+ years developing for the Magento e-commerce platform

Strong background using MVC frameworks and Object Oriented PHP

Substantial work with relational databases and SQL (MySQL preferred)

Prior systems integration experience, e.g. consuming web services APIs

Current knowledge of web development best practices, e.g. page speed optimization

Familiarity with supporting services like load balancers, web servers, cache, etc.

Fundamental understanding of web application security

Proficiency with version control systems (Git strongly preferred)

Managing work through ticketing systems (JIRA preferred)

Bonus Points For…

Magento Certification (especially Magento 2)

Using Vagrant-based development environments

Working on Agile teams

Prior agency experience

Primary Responsibilities

Develop application features for new site builds on our primary platforms

Integrate applications and perform data migrations between systems

Support existing client applications with ongoing feature additions and bug fixes

Perform platform updates, extension updates and security patching

Write automated software tests to prove correctness of your code

Estimate engineering effort and track hours for assigned work
