We have created a communication platform that gives the patient, their caregiver and their physicians access to the patient’s medical records, 24/7 from anywhere in the world using their desktop or mobile phone. This will lead to improved outcomes for patients and reduced costs for healthcare worldwide. Our goal is that someday, each person will have access to their individual health records from their birth to death.

We are looking for a PHP / Back-End Developer who will work to expand our core platform by integrating future capabilities. The right candidate will be able to efficiently interpret, modify, and create code in support of the company’s objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Development / coding / debugging of multiple modules as needed.
Must have exceptional problem solving, analytic and diagnostic skills.
Assist other developers with any technical and procedural challenges.
Work closely with the Director of Development to make sure the software development process is being followed.

Skills and Knowledge Requirements:

Must have experience in developing well-organized, maintainable, object-oriented, unit-tested code in PHP 5.6.
Must be skilled in developing highly scalable and composable RESTful APIs (JSON, API design, HATEOAS, Swagger, Hypermedia, JSON-LD, HAL)
Must have knowledge of and experience with Hadoop and SOLR.
Must be skilled in developing REST applications on modern PHP frameworks such as Slim.
Well-versed in authentication and authorization standards such as SAML, JWT, OAuth, OpenID, OKTA.
At home with MySQL (relational concepts, SQL, connection pooling. ER diagrams).
Must have experience in SDLC of Object Oriented Analysis & Design (OOAD), Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) principles, OO design patterns, application architectures, unit, integration, and system testing strategies.
Must have knowledge of Angular JavaScript framework and UX principles.
Must have knowledge of PHP 7.

Additional competencies in one or more of the following:

Knowledge of caching strategies such as Redis, Couchbase, and how to apply them meet SLA objectives.
Knowledge of storage techniques such as: SimpleDB, DynamoDB, S3, RabbitMQ.
Knowledge of: Application Performance Tuning (New Relic or similar APM).
Knowledge of the layers of connectivity from a service call to the DB, transaction control, isolation level, etc.; review existing code and recommend refactoring where applicable.
Knowledge of these skills will be considered a plus: LTI, Jenkins, Sonar, GIT, HTML5, CSS, Amazon EC2, Docker, Kubernetes, Node.js, Kafka, Kinesis, Spark.

Education and Experience Requirements:

BS in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 3 years professional experience as a developer working with the required technologies.
