SUMMARY:
The PC Technician supports overall desktop performance by installing and maintaining network software and technology. Working under the supervision of the Network Manager, the PC Technician installs voice, data, local, wide-area network technology and facilities, as well as communications software and equipment. Within this role, the incumbent will also provide support to the help-desk staff and to end users to identify opportunities to improve current technology processes, systems, and performance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide PC support at multiple locations or remotely

Ensure PC desktop performance by repairing equipment and software

Attach required peripherals, such as monitors, keyboards and mice

Reformat/Reimage and setup new PC’s

Install new software, patches, and upgrades

Diagnose common printer errors attached to the PC and Terminals

Maintain image backups, this includes security patches and approved and up-to-date software

Troubleshoot and resolve issues by executing solution processes as defined by the Network Manager.

Identify and communicate opportunities to improve current processes and performance

Create and update problem resolution documentation and procedures

Provide support to the help-desk staff to answer network, PC and software questions

Install CAT5/CAT6 wiring in facilities and work areas

Log calls, open tickets and document solutions into help desk software

Maintain inventory of technology assets

Keep current on software applications and trends

Maintain confidentiality with regard to information being processed, stored, or accessed by the end-users on the network including member and CFCU internal information.

Perform other duties as assigned

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Associate degree in business or information systems and two years information systems or equivalent combination of education and experience.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to operate various pieces of office equipment; and talk or hear. The employee is required to stand, walk, bend and must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds routinely. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus.

COMPLIANCE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
The PC Technician must act in accordance with Community First Credit union policies and procedures, complete all required compliance training/continuing education within specified timeframe, and maintain a thorough knowledge of all internal operating procedures within the MIS Department as well as applicable laws and regulations.
