Payroll Specialist

This position is in our Houston Office(moving in June to West Houston, 10900 Corporate Centre Drive)

Position Summary : We are seekinga talented payroll administrator to join our team who is comfortable processingbi-weekly payroll for over 400 employees. The ideal candidate for this role hasstrong attention to detail and is comfortable working in a constantly movingenvironment.

Responsibilities: Processesorganization’s payrolls and compiles payroll data (bi-weekly) to maintainaccurate payroll records. Processesemployee status changes, processes and analyzes payroll, creates on-goingmonth-end, quarterly, and year-end organization reports. Auditspayroll information for accuracy. Reconcilespayroll deposits, tax withholdings, wage garnishments, and voluntarydeductions. Screenstime-worked inputs for calculating, coding, or other errors. Performsaction necessary to determine pay and deductions including Federal and Statetaxes, insurance, retirement, union dues, savings, and other deductions. Reconcileserrors and maintain payroll records. Reconcilesbenefit carrier invoices and processes payments Answersemployees’ questions regarding payroll, benefits and time and attendance. Processesand keeps benefits membership and enrollment records maintained. Handlesemployment verifications.

QualificationsRequired: Minimum of 5 years of experience processing payroll in a multi-state environment. Excellent organizational and analytical skills with a strong attention to detail. Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization. Ability to maintain confidentiality exercise extreme discretion. Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines. Ability to use keyboard and use 10-key calculator by touch. Software knowledge: Excel, Word, ADP WorkforceNow. High school diploma;Some college coursework a plus. CPP certification aplus.
