Payroll / AP Accountant

We are looking for an experienced accountant to lead our payroll functions for approximately 300 employees in North America and Europe as well as assume some limited accounts payable functions. This will include coordinating efforts with ADP and other payroll service providers as well as our 401K administrator Fidelity. Additionally, there are some basic accounts payable activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for the preparation and processing of biweekly payroll for approximately 300 employees; track and deduct all garnishments and other special payroll deductions.
• Responsible for the coordination efforts between payroll, human resources, budget and other departments to ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee data (including preparation/distribution of detailed reports, e.g. head count, and retirement contribution reports.)
• Coordinate and process employees for both client billable and non-billable travel and expenses on a timely basis.
• Reconcile processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.
• Charges expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports; recording entries.
• Pays vendors by monitoring discount opportunities; verifying federal id numbers; scheduling and preparing checks; resolving purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation.
• Maintains accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions and cash receipts.
• Verifies vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.
• Monitors bank balances and performs treasury management/cashflow duties

Education & Experience

• Proven experience as a payroll/accounts payable accountant
• 5+ years payroll and accounts payable experience
• Associate Degree in Accounting or equivalent experience
• Knowledge of accounting principles and procedures for professional services/consulting industry
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion
• Working knowledge of Oracle Cloud Financials (Fusion) and QuickBooks Enterprise desired
• Experience with multi-currency accounting a plus.
