**DESCRIPTION: **

We are looking to find a motivated and bright individual looking to be part of a production accounting team for a NYC based daytime talk show. The ideal candidate would be someone with a solid entertainment accounting background looking to grow in a fast paced environment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Work with Accounting Personnel, Production Management, and other departments as well as interact with employees, clients, vendors, to ensure proper and accurate payroll processing
  • Calculate, audit and process weekly and bi-weekly union & nonunion timecards
  • Perform detailed review payroll edits for accuracy and correct if needed
  • Liaise with payroll processing company
  • Verify and prepare paychecks for distribution
  • Maintain and update accurate payroll records by reviewing and approving changes in exemptions, insurance coverage,etc.
  • Prepare reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages.
  • Provide payroll information by answering questions and requests
  • Receive, prepare and process final payroll invoices
  • Analyze employment and talent contracts and process according to terms set forth
  • Maintain meticulous production personnel files
  • Work on other miscellaneous projects/assignments as needed

**QUALIFICATIONS: **

Requirements:

  • Degree in Accounting / Business / Finance or other related field
  • Must be self-motivated, proactive, well organized, detail oriented, possess a can do attitude, and be a quick learner
  • Have the ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast paced, high pressure, and high volume environment
  • Must be able to work independently as well as take direction from others and be a team player
  • Must possess strong and solid communication (written and oral) skills
  • Good follow through on all projects and ability to meet all deadlines and take ownership of assigned tasks without undue supervision
  • Approach problems or challenges in a thorough, analytical and logical manner
  • Knowledge of applicable guild and union rules-DGA, SAG-AFTRA and IATSE collective bargaining agreements
  • Handle confidential and sensitive information with a high degree of discretion and good judgment.
  • Professional in all interactions with co-workers, customers, vendors and others
  • Human Resources / Payroll experience a plus.
  • Experience in entertainment industry and production accounting preferred
  • Prior experience in production accounting, payroll, and other accounting functions. – Proficient in Excel, Word, Windows, and Entertainment Partners software, (Vista 5, SmartTime)
  • Knowledge of the NYS Film Tax Credit program is a big plus
