Patient Service Representative – Call Center Experience Required

Job Purpose:

As a Patient Service Representative, you’ll be expected to resolve physician opportunities and respond to patient inquiries with urgency and compassion. This opportunity to identify and exceed patient expectation helps drive commitment and build strong relationships with USMD and its patients. You will engage patients and Physician office teammates each day by quickly responding to calls helping to resolve issues regarding Physician scheduling and billing inquiries on the first call.

Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma or GED or 10 years of equivalent. One year call center work experience, preferably in a medical, prescription or insurance setting.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Schedule, coordinate and assist with patient appointments. Relay necessary messages to staff through direct call or by task.
  • Verify necessary information and recording the patient’s chart.
  • Maintain and update current information on physicians’ schedules ensuring that patients are scheduled properly.
  • Answer 75-100 telephone calls a day.
  • Schedule office procedures and consultations.
  • Answer questions regarding patient appointments and testing.
  • Update patient information.
  • Participates in all other communal job duties necessary for functioning of the office.
  • Attend meetings as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
